I'll never stop feeling chest pains when a new book arrives. So many things have the potential to go wrong. Particularly in this book's case - it's the only one I've EVER soft-proofed. That is, went ahead with the printing with only a digital sample of the final thing. It's risky business, but Rich and I have gotten the layout process down to a pretty smooth system, so I had faith. And at first glance, things came out just the way we wanted.
Photos don't quite do it justice, but the colors look SPANKIN'. I am pleased. :)
(But: putting the text "And at first glance, things came out just the way we wanted" and then a cut tag immediately after was... misleading. Although maybe it was just me.)
It looks great! I can't wait to get it this summer (along with vol 2). What printer did you go with? Because I was looking at our copy of vol 1 today and I like how it is not glossy printed and the paper stock, we want to print our small cats like that one day.
